Garry Burnside, a gifted blues guitarist, was born into a family deeply entrenched in the blues tradition. He is the son of the legendary blues musician R.L. Burnside, whose soul-stirring music left an indelible mark on the blues world. Growing up in such a musical environment, Garry was exposed to the rich heritage of Delta blues from an early age. Music flowed in his blood, and he absorbed the essence of the genre, which would later shape his records and playing.

Embracing the family legacy, Garry began honing his guitar skills under the watchful eye of his father as well a Jr. Kimborough and others in the Mississippi blues scene.

After the passing of his father in 2005, he became even more determined to carry on the legacy of the Burnside blues tradition. He stepped into the spotlight and began performing live shows, captivating audiences with his mesmerizing guitar skills and soulful vocals. In each performance, Garry paid homage to his father while infusing his own personality into the music, ensuring that the family’s blues heritage lives on through his exceptional talent.
